DescriptionA small "whole cloth" type quilt, the top is made of a piece of kalamkari (block/hand painted) cotton fabric in a mulit - colored deign of all - over buti motifs, surrounding a central medallion; banded borders of flowers and buti surrounds this. There are also "star burst" motifs in the corner blocks. There is hand painted script along one edge of border; looks like Persian/Urdu style script (?). The back of the quilt is made of commercially printed calico, with a design of oblong green polka - dots in several colors on a white ground. The quilt is all hand - pieced and quilted. Applied border piece of blue cotton on reverse side, cut on bias.On View
